UD football back in the national rankings this week

The University of Delaware football team is back in the national top 25 for the first time in nearly a year.

The Blue Hens are 24th in the latest Sports Network Football Championship (FCS) rankings.

UD moved into the top 25 after knocking off then #14 James Madison 29-22 in the their Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) opener Saturday night in Newark. Delaware fell behind 13-0 in the first quarter before rallying for the win, which knocked JMU out of the top 25 this week.

The Hens are ranked for the first time since the last week of October last year. They are one of five CAA teams in the top 25 this week.

UD faces one of the other four conference teams in this week's rankings when they call on #23 Maine this Saturday.
