Reaching new heights on the hardwood

The University of Delaware knows how to win in women's basketball. The Blue Hens have had a losing record just once in the past 12 seasons. In that same span, Delaware has won 20 or more games nine times, appeared in the NCAA tournament twice and reached the Women's postseason NIT tournament six times.

But the 2011-2012 season has the makings of something special. Delaware is off to the best start in team history, 7-0 following Monday's 77-45 rout of Yale at the Bob Carpenter Center, and starting to generate a buzz in Newark and beyond. Delaware is ranked in the national top 25 for the first time ever, currently sitting at #22 in the latest Associated Press poll and entering the USA Today/Coaches' top 25 this week at #25.

DFM News' Patrick Mairs paid a visit to the Bob this week for a glimpse at what makes this team a cut above the rest and how Blue Hen nation is reacting.
