Combined MegaMillions, Powerball jackpots top $750 million

Oct 8, 2018

Lottery players in the First State and around the nation have a pair of major jackpots to play for this week.

No one claimed the top prizes in MegaMillions or Powerball over the weekend, pushing their combined worth for this week’s drawings over $750 million.

The MegaMillions’ jackpot is approaching the top 10 all-time in the U.S.

It sits at $470 million  for Tuesday’s drawing. That’s the 12th biggest ever and the largest MegaMillions prize since a winner in New Jersey took cashed in $533 million prize last March.

Another $282 million is for grabs in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing.

Delaware has never had a MegaMillions jackpot winner in that game’s 15-year history. The state’s last Powerball winner came in December 2016 when a winning ticket worth nearly $122 million was sold at a Selbyville gas station.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are one in over 302 million.  The Powerball odds are about one in 292 million.
