UD tuition going up slightly for 2015-16 school year

Delaware Public Media

Students will pay more to attend the University of Delaware during the 2015-2016 school year.

The university announced Tuesday that tuition and fees for in-state and out of state students will go up – but call the hike the lowest percentage increase in more than 30 years.

In-state undergrads will pay $12,520 to attend UD.  That’s $178 more than last year -- or a 1.44 percent increase.  Out-of-state undergrads will see $728 added to their bill – pushing it to $31,420.  That’s a 2.37 percent.

"At the University of Delaware, we are committed to providing our students with an enriching and empowering educational experience," said UD Acting President Nancy Targett in a statement announcing the increase.  "At the same time, we work hard to control costs so that a quality education is within the reach of our students and their families."

School officials say if you add standard housing and dining options – the price tag to be a Blue Hen is now $24,350 for in-state students and $43,250 for out-of-state students.

Graduate students will also pay more - an additional 3 percent hour.
