Milford area Rep. Jack Peterman revealed Wednesday he has prostate cancer.
Peterman recently had the malignant growth removed and is recovering.
He’s had a slate of health problems that caused him miss much of the previous legislative session and some of 2014. Peterman still beat back a primary challenge and won re-election that year.
A release by House Republicans says doctors continue to monitor the situation and no timetable for his return is available at this time.
Peterman has not filed for re-election this year. If he does run, he would face Morgan Hudson and Charles Postles in a primary.
