Saturday's snow enough to close some schools Monday

Delaware Public Media

Most students in the southern half of the First State will enjoy their first snow day of the year Monday. Sussex and Kent Counties continue to dig out from Saturday’s storm that dumped as many as 10 inches in some locations.

In Sussex County, Cape Henlopen, Delmar, Indian River, Laurel, Seaford and Sussex Tech school districts are all closed.

In Central Delaware, Caesar Rodney, Capital, Lake Forest, Milford, Polytech, Smyrna and Woodbridge are closed.

In New Castle County, Appoquinimink school district is opening two hours late.

The University of Delaware has also announced its locations in Lewes and Georgetown will open late at 10 am Monday.  UD’s other campuses are unaffected.

And Delaware Tech’s Terry Campus in Dover will also open late at 10 a.m.
