Hunters statewide are getting ready for the early shotgun deer season. The early shotgun season draws the most hunters in the First State, according to Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
“Last year there were 6,174 deer harvested during the November shotgun season," State Fish and Wildlife Biologist Emily Boyd said.
She said that number accounted for almost half of all deer harvested last year.
Hunters will be able to go out on two Sundays during the early shotgun season, November 13 and 20.
Shotgun deer season reopens January 14-21. Muzzleloader deer season opens for a week in January 23-28, as well.
In order to hunt, Delawareans ages 16-64 need a state hunting license.
