Delaware State Fair updates COVID guidelines and announces concert lineup

Delaware Public Media

The Delaware State Fair announced COVID-19 guidelines and the rest of its concert lineup.

The fair will be lining up its guidelines to match with Delaware Department of Public Health guidance.

“If you are fully vaccinated, you will not be required to wear a face mask,” Danny Aguilar, Delaware State Fair Assistant General Manager & Director of Marketing said. “If you are not fully vaccinated you will be strongly encouraged to wear a face mask coming into the Delaware State Fair and throughout the Delaware State Fairgrounds.”

Aguilar says the fairgrounds this year will look similar to 2019, pre-pandemic, and everyone is on the honor system.

Masks are required for concerts however, upon entry and exit and when moving about the venue. Seating is arranged in pods of 2, 4 and 6. Four-person pods are available in all sections while pods of two or six are only available in the Stadium or Grandstand sections.

Tickets for all shows are still available -- 38 Special tickets go on sale Friday the 11th at noon. Tickets are not required for a free concert on opening night featuring local bands Club Phred, The Funsters and Kristen and the Noise.

Fully vaccinated Delawareans can also enter to win tickets. The State Fair is partnering with DE Wins - the state’s vaccine incentive program.

“Go to delawarestatefair.com, go ahead and enter your information for a chance to win pods, four tickets, as well as daily gate admissions into the Delaware State Fair,” Augilar said.

Augilar says only winners will be asked for proof of vaccination and will be notified on June 30th.
