For the first time in two months, gas prices in the First State are on the rise.
AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the cost of a gallon of regular was up three cents over the past seven days – from $1.93 to $1.96.
The increase ends run that had seen prices plummet 32 cents since mid-June.
Despite the uptick, leaving the price remains 47 cents below the $2.43 Delaware drivers were paying this time last year.
And according to Delawaregasprices.com, nearly a dozen stations statewide are selling a gallon of regular for a $1.85 or lower. They are mainly in the Dover and New Castle areas.
The national average also rose slightly last week – up a penny $2.12 to $2.13.
AAA says it expects prices to remain relatively low through the remainder the summer and into the fall.
