A University of Delaware football player will have a chance to make the case he’s good enough to play on Sundays.
Blue Hen tight end Nick Boyle has been selected to play in January’s Senior Bowl – a key showcase for NFL scouts and coaches.
Boyle is just the fourth Hen ever to earn a Senior Bowl invite – joining Ravens quarterback and one time Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco, tight end Ben Patrick and defensive tackle Dennis Johnson. Patrick and Johnson also reached the NFL.
The 6-6, 270 pound Boyle is the top pass catching tight end in UD history with 101 career receptions. His 984 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns rank second all-time among Blue Hen tight ends.
He caught 37 passes for 304 yards and a team-high four touchdowns this year.
The Senior Bowl is January 20th in Mobile, Alabama.
