Gas prices remain stable in First State

Delaware motorists saw no change in the price at the pump last week.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average price for a gallon of regular in the Delaware Sunday was $3.60 – unchanged from a week ago.

That’s noticeably more than First State drivers were paying at the start of June a year ago when the average price per gallon for regular was $3.49, but below the national average, which is currently at $3.67.

AAA says political instability in Ukraine and Libya, combined with a month of crude oil prices above 100 dollars a barrel have kept gas prices from dropping as they usually do at this time of year – but it still expects to see some decline in June.

Delawaregasprices.com reports a dozen stations selling a gallon of regular for $3.49 or less, all in New Castle County,
