The University of Delaware men’s basketball team saw its 13 game win streak end Monday night. The Blue Hens fell at Towson 78-63 in a battle of the top two teams in the Colonial Athletic Association.
Towson placed five players in double figures scoring, led by Jerrelle Benimon's 25 points. Devon Usher scored 24 for UD in the loss.
It’s Delaware’s first league loss in 12 CAA games this season. A win would have cliched the Hens no worse than a tie for the CAA regular season title and and the top seed in next month's conference tournament in Baltimore. Despite the loss, the first place Blue Hens remain two games ahead of the second place Tigers with four games left in the regular season.
The 19-8 Hens look to bounce back Wednesday night when they visit Hofstra.
