After a month on the road, Delaware State University’s football squad finally gets to enjoy some home cookin’. The 1-3 Hornets play their home opener Saturday, welcoming defending MEAC champ Bethune-Cookman to Dover.
DSU is coming off its first win of the year, a 24-22 victory at Savannah State last week. The 3-1 Wildcats were off last weekend after losing at Florida State 54-6 two weeks ago.
Kickoff at Alumni Stadium is 2pm
The University of Delaware heads north for a top 25 showdown with conference rival Maine. The 24th ranked Blue Hens duel the #23 Black Bears in a Colonial Athletic Association contest at 3:30.
Both teams beat ranked teams last week to move into the top 25. Delaware upended then #14 James Madison 29-22 in Newark. Maine knocked-off then #20 Richmond 28-21.
And Wesley College celebrates Homecoming with its own Top 25 tussle.
The Wolverines, 3-1 and ranked 11th in the Division III coaches' poll, entertain #22 Huntington at noon at Miller Stadium in Dover. Huntingdon is 3-0. Wesley win at Birmingham Southern last week 46-21 while Huntingdon rolled past Ferrum 56-35.
