Seaford native C.J. Faison started strong, but faded in Friday’s K&N Pro Series East race on the Monster Mile, finishing 24th.
The 20 year-old Faison led for 76 of 150 laps in the "Drive Sober 150" at Dover International Speedway. After starting second, he took the lead on lap 12, passing Kyle Benjamin, but lost the lead to Austin Hill on lap 88. Faison then appeared to have engine trouble with about 30 laps to go before suffering a flat tire that caused him to crash with 12 laps to go.
Faison was sent to the hospital for treatment following the crash, but was later released.
Hill wound up winning the event to earn his first career K&N Pro Series East victory.
