Selbyville Powerball winner yet to claim prize

Delaware Public Media

Someone who made a pit stop last week at a Selbyville gas station is now a multimillionaire.

A customer at Selbyville Goose Creek holds the winning Powerball ticket from Saturday night’s drawing worth $121.6 million.

The winner can also choose the cash option with a lump sum payment of $72.1 million.

It’s the second-highest Delaware jackpot winner from a single ticket. In 2004, an anonymous ticketholder snagged a nearly $215 million Powerball jackpot and took the cash option of about $117 million.

A few years earlier, one of four winning tickets on a $295 million jackpot was sold in Delaware.

Most recently, A Super G grocery store in Rehoboth Beach sold one of three winning tickets to a $50 million prize in 2013.

Delaware is one of six states where winners can choose to remain anonymous. They have up to one year to claim their prize.
