Camden gas station fined nearly $90,000 for environmental violations

DNREC

State environmental officials are fining a Camden gas station nearly $90,000 for violating underground gas storage tank laws.

According to a state order, Hylton’s Market and its owner Sal Dellomo [dell-OH-MO] still had four outstanding violations late last month after DNREC tagged them for 17 infractions in 2014.

Those included failing to keep monthly inspection records and ensure that the tanks aren’t leaking gas or hazardous vapors.

The agency halted gasoline deliveries to the station for four months for those offenses.

Hylton’s Market also faced similar violations in 2011 when their pumps were shut down for nine months.

Dellomo and Hylton’s Market have 30 days to appeal the decision before it becomes final.
