Cape May-Lewes Ferry earns award for customer service

Delaware Public Media

The Cape May-Lewes Ferry is earning additional national recognition.

The Ferry recently picked up the 2018 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Delaware River and Bay Authority spokesman Jim Salmon says this is the seventh consecutive year it has earned this honor.

“It is an award given by TripAdvisor to organizations, attractions, restaurants, accommodations that deliver excellent, quality customer service,” said Salmon.

And Salmon says for the Ferry, “customer service” means offering the “whole package.”

“Whether it’s marine, food and retail, maintenance, customer service, here at the Ferry, it’s all of those areas. And the goal is to exceed the customers’ expectation everyday,” Salmon said.

The Certificate of Excellence is based on the quality and quantity of reviews submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period.

To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
