Gas prices in the First State inched up some more last week.
AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average cost of a gallon of regular rose another penny over the past seven days – from $2.27 to $2.28.
And Delawaregasprices.com reports there’s only about a half dozen charging $2.14 or less – mainly in Northern New Castle County.
By comparison, a year ago the average price in Delaware was still below $2 a gallon, sitting at $1.93.
The surge in price over the past couple of weeks comes as the shift from winter to summer blend is completed.
AAA officials also point to crude oil prices finishing last week above the 50 dollar a barrel mark.
The national average currently sits at $2.39 – up seven cents from last week.
