Gas back above $2 per gallon in First State

Delaware Public Media

Gas prices in Delaware surged back above 2 dollars a gallon last week.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average price for a gallon of regular spiked nine cents over the last seven days – jumping from $1.93 to $2.02.

And Delawaregasprices.com reports there are only a half dozen stations across the state still selling regular for $1.90 or less.

But Delawareans are still paying 35 cents below the $2.37 were paying this time last year.

The average price nationwide also rose last week – up 7 cents from $2.04 to $2.11.

AAA says prices are likely to fluctuate as summer-blend gasoline makes its way to the pumps, but barring any major disruptions or shortages they should remain “relatively steady” in the coming weeks.
