Most Delawareans getting insurance through Obamacare will pay more for health insurance next year.
The state Department of Insurance released its 2015 premium rates for qualified health plans under the Affordable Care Act marketplace Friday. Most Delawareans with group insurance will see their rates rise by about 2.9 percent -- the group’s total rate will be determined by the age of those in the group and their smoking status.
Those with individual plans will see their rates increase even more. Most Delawareans with individual insurance will see their bills rise by 3.9 percent in 2015 -- a person’s rate may change depending on particular circumstances.
The rates were approved Thursday by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services after Insurance Commissioner Karen Weldin-Stewart submitted the rates to CMS in August.
