Wesley College has been awarded a $1.5 million grant by the US Department of Education.
The funding will be used to create a replicable, sustainable model for teacher preparation and increase recruitment and retention of highly-qualified young teachers into local school districts.
The Dover institution will partner with Capital School District, Laurel-Woodbridge School District, MOT Charter School and Delaware State University on the project.
The funding, which will be dispersed over the course of five years, is the first federal education grant submitted by Wesley College’s Department of Education.
