First State gas prices dip over holiday weekend

Delawareans out and about over the July fourth holiday weekend didn’t have to pay quite as much to fill their gas tanks.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average price for a gallon of regular in the Delaware dipped slightly over the last seven days. Sunday – the price stood at was $3.62 – down four cents from a week ago when it was $3.66.

That’s three cents below the national average, which fell two cents to $3.65 Sunday and is 21 cents more than what Delawareans were paying a year ago when the average price per gallon for regular was $3.43.

Delawaregasprices.com reports there are about a dozen stations selling a gallon of regular for $3.53 or less up and down the First State.
