Colonial School District has a new superintendent.
The Colonial school board unanimously voted to hire Dusty Blakey to replace Dorothy Linn, who announced her retirement earlier this year.
Blakey has spent 13 years in the Colonial School District, and is currently one of the directors of the district’s Schools Division. He’s also worked as a middle school principal and high school assistant principal in the district, as well as serving a stint as Colonial's Director of Personnel.
“I am humbled and honored to be selected to lead the Colonial School District during a time of change and reform,' said Blakey in a statemennt. "I look forward to working with all constituents as we continue our quest to make certain every student is college and career ready.”
Blakey steps into the job July 1st. Linn’s final day is Monday.
