In a letter to Lake Forest staff, students, and parents, Conway wrote he is honored and excited for the opportunity to be part of the Spartan tradition of excellence.

"I deeply believe in a quality and comprehensive education for all students. Lake Forest is known not only for its academic excellence and extracurricular programs, but also for the positive and healthy relationships between staff and students," Conway wrote. "I take very seriously that you have entrusted the young people of this community to our care and expect our fine staff to give their best day in and day out."

His career began in the First State. He was a social studies teacher at Caesar Rodney high school in from 1994 to 1995.

Conway replaces Dan Curry, who is retiring after 12 years as Lake Forest superintendent.

The district has a 7.7 million-dollar capital referendum up for a vote this Wednesday, May 28th.
