Frontier to halt service to Detroit from Delaware

Frontier Airlines is suspending flights from Wilmington to Detroit for the winter months.

A spokesperson for the company confirmed Monday that the change will be effective September 21. The company says it will evaluate the performance of the route in coming months as it plans it’s schedule for spring of next year.

The Denver-based airline only began servicing the route on April 29th after announcing in November it would add the route. It canceled direct flights from Houston to New Castle County Airport in September of last year.

Once Detroit service is suspended, Frontier's list of available non-stop destinations from the First State will be Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Fort Meyers, Orlando and Tampa.
