Wesley College lands a conference home for football

The Wesley College football team will have a conference to call home following next season.

The Wolverines will join the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) as an associate football member in 2015. The rest of Wesley’s sports will remain the Capital Athletic Conference.

Wesley has competed as a Division III independent in football since the Atlantic Central Football Conference disbanded following the 2010 season.

Wesley is one of five tams joining the NJAC as the league expands to 10 teams. Christopher Newport University, Frostburg State University and Salisbury University will join with Wesley in 2015. Southern Virginia becomes part of the league this fall.

The NJAC’s football roster already includes Kean University, Montclair State University, Rowan University, College of New Jersey and William Paterson University.

Wesley has made the NCAA Division III playoffs in each of the last nine years, compiling a 102-and-16 record during that span.
