Lingering Nor'easter means some Friday closings and delays

Overnight snow in Northern and Central Delaware means more closing, cancellations and delays Friday.

State offices in New Castle County will open at 10am. Essential employees are to report on time.

DART says its fixed and paratransit service statewide is operating normally, with the exception of Rt. 8 in Wilmington which will not operate.

In Central Delaware, Caesar Rodney, Capital, Lake Forest, Polytech and Smyrna School Districts are opening two hours late.

Many schools that were not already closed for teacher in-service days are shut down in New Castle County. Brandywine School District is closed. Appoquinimink and New Castle Vo-Tech districts schools are closed, but offices will open today two hours late. Christina School District is closed and parent conferences cancelled.

The University of Delaware will open at 11am. Delaware State University's Wilmington campus will open at 11am. The main campus and Georgetown campus are operating on time. Goldey-Beacom College opens at 10am. Delaware Tech’s Stanton and Wilmington campuses will also be closed Friday.

The City of Wilmington has announced it will close its offices for a second straight day. Offices in Newark are opening two hours late. New Castle County government is open on time, but 2 hour liberal leave is in effect for employees.

New Castle County Courthouse, U.S. District Court, U.S. Bankruptcy Court and the Supreme Court of Delaware are all opening at 10am Friday.

Dover Air Force Base has announced a three hour delay in normal reporting time for MEL 2 and 3 personnel Friday, reporting no later than 11am. Day shift emergency and MEL 1 personnel should report as scheduled.
