First State drivers enjoyed a slight drop in prices at the pump last week, but it's expected to be a short-lived trend.
AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average price for a gallon of regular in Delaware fell from $3.35 to $3.32 over the last seven days.
That’s remains 5 cents higher that the national average, but is 23 cents below what First State drivers were paying a year ago when a gallon of regular stood at about $3.56.
Delawaregasprices.com shows just over a half dozen stations selling a gallon of regular for $3.19 or less Sunday – all in New Castle County.
But AAA Mid-Atlantic officials maintain that while recent snow and cold have helped keep prices down, scheduled seasonal refinery maintenance beginning this month prices are likely to push prices up.
