Wesley College’s football team is again considered among the nation’s elite heading into the 2013 season.
The Wolverines are fifth in the D3football.com preseason ranking of the country’s NCAA Division III teams.
Wesley went 10-2 a year ago, reaching the NCAA playoffs for an 8th straight year before losing in the national quarterfinals to Mary Hardin-Baylor.
The Wolverines’ 2013 schedule is expected to be one of the toughest in the nation. Wesley faces three teams that join them in the preseason top 25: third ranked Mary-Hardin Baylor, number 16 Salisbury and 20th ranked Widener. They also face Rowan, which received votes in the preseason poll.
Defending Division three national champ Mount Union is the preseason number one.
Wesley opens its season September 6th at home against Widener.
