Gas prices in the First State slipped last week.
AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average cost of a gallon of regular dropped two cents over the last week, from $3.42 to $3.40.
The lowest prices in the state can be found in the Newark/Pike Creek area where Delaware-gas-prices-dot-com reports a handful of stations charging under 3.30 per gallon for regular.
But most Delaware drivers are still paying significantly more than the national average, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic. That’s 9 cents lower at 3.31 a gallon.
And while the national average for a gallon of gas last week was cheaper than it was a year ago – the same is not true yet in the First State, where motorists are still paying a penny more than they did a year ago.
