Enlighten Me: Craft beer in the First State

For those of you who enjoy drinking Delaware craft beer, have you ever noticed the little black logo on the side of the can or bottle? It’s an image of an up-turned bottle that reads “independent craft.”

That’s the Brewers Association’s Independent Craft Brewer Seal. It indicates the beer you’re drinking is not produced by a brewery bought up by one of the “big beer” companies, and all 21 of Delaware’s craft breweries have adopted the seal.

For this week’s Enlighten Me, Delaware Public Media’s Nick Ciolino sat down with Andrew Rutherford, Owner and Brewer at Stitch House Brewery in Wilmington, to talk about craft brewing in Delaware and why the Independent Craft Brewer Seal is important.
