UD women ousted from CAA tourney

The University of Delaware women’s basketball team’s season came to an abrupt end Friday afternoon at the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

The Blue Hens were trounced by top-seed James Madison 68-47 in the semifinals of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament.

UD trailed by just 6 points midway through the second quarter, but JMU ended the first half on a 12-2 run to take a 16-point lead into the locker room. The Dukes pushed the lead to as much as 24 before capturing the  21-point victory.

Freshman Nicole Enobosi was one of the few bright spots for Delaware, scoring a team-high 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the loss.

The Blue Hens finish the season with a 16-15 record.
