Artist showcase comes to Lewes for Memorial Day Weekend

Coutesy Biggs Museum of American Art

About 40 artists who are Delaware By Hand members at the Biggs Museum in Dover are taking their work down Route 1 to Zwaanendael Park in Lewes over the Memorial Day Weekend.

"The thing about Delaware By Hand is that they’re all handmade objects created by Delaware artisans," Biggs Museum Curator Ryan Grover said. "It is the only resident-based artist membership within the state. So when you have this group together you’re looking at the things made in our own backyards."

Everything from fused glass, ceramics, lawn art and framed paintings will be represented in the show.

The event starts Saturday, May 27 at 10:00 a.m. in Lewes' Zwaanendael Park.

Delaware Public Media' s arts coverage is made possible, in part, by support from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
