UD, DSU play at home while Wesley College hits the road

Delaware and Delaware State are each on home turf Saturday for college football action.

The Blue Hens welcome Colgate to Delaware Stadium for a 6 pm kick-off. It’s the first meeting between the two teams since the 2003 NCAA I-AA national championship game won by UD 40-0.

The Hens are 1-1 after a 27-9 win over Del State last week. Colgate is 0-1 following a 30-10 loss to Ball State.

DSU plays its home opener in Dover at 2pm, entertaining Towson at Alumni Stadium.

The Hornets look to shake off their 0-2 start and avenge last year’s 49-7 loss at Towson.

The Tigers are also 0-2, losing to Central Connecticut and West Virginia .

And Wesley College heads down the road to visit Route 13 rival Salisbury.

The Wolverines, ranked fourth nationally in Division III, have dominated the series with the Sea Gulls recently – winning the last nine meeting between the two teams.

Both teams are 1-and-oh heading into Saturday night’s 6pm contest. Wesley beat #22 Thomas More last week 35-20 while Salisbury topped Christopher Newport 41-32.
