Wesley College has been awarded a $600,000 grant from the National Science Foundation.
The award will support the Dover institution’s scholarships in science, technology engineering and math (STEM) programs. It is the college’s largest direct grant for its STEM program and will come to the school over the next five years.
In a statement, Wesley chemistry professor Malcom D’Sousa said, “Our students have a reputation of excellence in the field and this award is a direct result from NSF for those efforts."
The STEM curriculum at Wesley, termed the Canon Scholars Program, was established to recruit and retain academically talented students and seeks to increase the number of underrepresented and financially disadvantaged students.
