UD vice president and University secretary Jeffrey Garland says te school is honored to welcome Biden back as Commencement speaker.
"The vice president has a remarkable record of public service—to this nation, to the state of Delaware and to this University," saidf Garland in a statement. "His distinguished career showcases the power of engagement and the difference that one person can make. I know his insights will be particularly meaningful to our newest graduates as they celebrate their academic accomplishments."
It’s the fourth time Biden, a 1965 UD grad, will deliver the commencement address at his alma mater, but the first time since he’s been Vice President. He also spoke at the University’s graduation ceremonies in 1978, in 1987 and in 2004.
