The Wesley College football team is headed to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division Three playoffs.
The Wolverines topped Ithaca College 23-15 in their second round contest in Dover.
Jamar Baynard rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Wesley offense.
Defensively, the Wolverines’ used 8 sacks to bottle up the Bomber offense for most of the game. The sacks left Ithaca with minus 50 yards rushing in the contest.
Wesley is now 10-2 and a perfect 7-0 at home this year, but will hit the road for quarterfinal round.
Next up for the Wolverines is top-ranked and defending national champ Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio next Saturday. Mount Union defeated Wittenberg 56-21 in its second round contest. The Purple Raiders are 12-0.
