The Delaware State Fair gets underway Thursday.
Now in its 94th year, the fair opens its gates at noon and runs for the next 10 days - through July 27th. This year’s theme is Celebrate What’s Great with free parking and general admission tickets 8 dollars or less.
State Fair Assistant General Manager and Director of Marketing Danny Aguilar says there are opportunities for fairgoers to get in for a discounted rate.
“Armed Forces day where it’s free admission for military personnel presenting military ID. We also have Food Lion Hunger Relief Day on the Monday of the Fair where folks bring in 5 cans of a Food Lion brand can of food and they receive a free gate admission with those 5 cans,” said Aguilar.
The complete listing of special fair discounts and the days offered can be found at the Delaware State Fair website. You can also find information there on this year’s concert line-up, which includes Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley, and Three Doors Down.
More than 300,000 people are expected to go through the turnstiles this year. Starting Friday fair hours are 8 am to 11 pm daily.
