Someone has come forward with winning May 25th Powerball jackpot ticket sold in First State.
Lottery officials say the person who purchased that ticket at the Super G in Rehoboth Beach has decided to remain anonymous. Delaware is currently one of six states that allow winners to remain anonymous.
“In Delaware, winner privacy is our policy,” said Delaware Lottery Director Vernon Kirk in a statement. “Although we cannot reveal the winner’s identity, we are pleased to share in the luck of being able to award yet another big jackpot prize, making this individual the ninth jackpot winner overall in the First State.”
The Delaware winner was one of three people who matched the winning Powerball numbers in that drawing and has decided to take their share of the $50 million as a lump-sum payment of just under $10.4 million.
The other winning tickets for that May 25th drawing were purchased in Tampa and New Orleans.
