A number of skaters with First State connections found success at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Omaha over the weekend.
Felicia Zhang and Nate Bartholomay, who train at the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club, took the bronze medal in the pairs competition.
Their showing lands them a spot skating at the Four Continents Championships later this year and alternate status for World Championships.
Another UD based skater just missed a medal in the Intermediate Men’s competition. Eric Sjoberg finished fourth there.
And for a second straight year, the U.S. women’s title went to Ashley Wagner, who still lists the Skating Club of Wilmington as her home club, though she now trains in California.
