Some of the nation’s top high school wrestlers are in Newark this weekend for the 10th annual “Beast of the East” tournament.
102 high schools from 13 different states bring teams to the Bob Carpenter Center for the two day event that starts Saturday.
The list features 11 of the top 50 teams in the nation according to InterMat, topped by number one Blair Academy of New Jersey and second ranked Wyoming Seminary of Pennsylvania.
Some of Delaware’s top wrestling high schools, including Smyrna, Caesar Rodney and Cape Henlopen, are also competing in the tourney which wraps up with the finals Sunday afternoon.
