UD student killed in Maryland train derailment

A local college student was one of the two people killed when a train derailed in Ellicott City near Baltimore early Tuesday.

Rose Louese Mayr - a student at the University of Delaware - was killed when a CSX freight train carrying coal derailed and fell from a bridge.

Elizabeth Conway Nass, a James Madison University student, was also killed.

The 19 year olds were on the tracks when the derailment occurred.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
