Delle Donne waits for call from the WNBA Monday

Elena Delle Donne learns Monday where she’ll continue her basketball career.

The University of Delaware star is a lock to go quickly in Monday night’s WNBA Draft. Delle Donne, Baylor’s Britney Griner and Notre Dame’s Skylar Diggins have been dubbed the “3 To See” and are expected to be the top three picks.

Tulsa has the third overall pick and its head Coach Gary Kloppenburg says there’s no doubt that the trio is the cream of the crop.

"Those three players in their level of play have really separated themselves. Although there’s a lot of good players behind them I would say probably those three – based on their bodies of work- have separated themselves,” said Kloppenberg.

Phoenix and Chicago have the first two picks ahead of Tulsa. Kloppenburg would be happy if Delle Donne is available when his team selects.

“Elena Delle Donne is one of those once in a lifetime players, [She’s] highly skilled at 6-5. She can play every position. We haven’t seen a player like her come into her league. I guess the comparison is to [the Seattle Storm's] Lauren Jackson, but in a way, [Delle Donne] has a greater skill set than even Lauren with her ability to put the ball on the floor.”

Delle Donne, a three time CAA player of the year and two-time first team All-American, finished her collegiate career with 3,039 points, good for fifth all-time in NCAA Division I women’s basketball

She will be only the second UD player drafted by the WNBA. Tyresa Smith was selected in 2007 with the 18th overall pick in the second round by Phoenix.

The WNBA draft gets underway at 8 Monday night. Delle Donne is one of 12 players invited to attend the draft in person at ESPN headquarters in Bristol, CT.
