Masks are required again inside of Rehoboth Beach buildings.

The city reinstated a mask mandate Monday, requiring all staff and visitors to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status,  It covers all city building - including City Hall, the Rehoboth Beach Police Department and the resort’s Public Works Department - just to name a few.

Rehoboth City Manager Sharon Lynn says employees are allowed to take their mask off when they are working individually or seated at a desk in their office.

Lynn notes the mandate does not apply to outdoor locations, like the beach or boardwalk. And she says privately-owned businesses still have the option to mandate if masks have to be worn or not.

Gov John Carney announced a mask mandate for all visitors and state employees at Delaware government facilities on Aug. 9, 2021.

In addition to reinstating masks, all city meetings will be held virtually again.
