Three slots on Newark City Council are up for grabs Tuesday.
Voters in Districts 1, 2 and 4 head to the polls to decide who will hold those seats for the next two years.
In each race, an incumbent is seeking to fend off a challenge.
In District 1, Mark Morehead is trying to earn a third term against Joseph Charma, who has chaired the Downtown Newark Partnership's design committee for 16 years.
The District 2 race pits incumbent Todd Ruckle against Glenn Schmalhofer. Ruckle is looking to earn a full term after winning a special election last year to finish retiring Councilman Jerry Clifton's term
In District 4, incumbent Marge Hadden faces Ronald Walker. Hadden beat Walker by 9 votes in a four person race for the seat in 2013.
The District 1 residents can vote at Wesleyan Church of Newark (708 W. Church Road). The District 2 polling place is the Newark Senior Center (200 White Chapel Drive). Distrct 4 voters cast their ballots at VFW Post #475 (100 Veterans Lane).
Polls are open from 7 am to 8 pm.
