Wilson Somers’ AJazz Christmas returns to Wilmington this weekend.

The holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019 at 7 p.m., at the The Tatnall School’s Laird Performing Arts Center wll benefit Lutheran Community Services of Delaware (LCS).

Somers, an  Emmy Award-winning jazz composer and pianist, says the show will highlight traditional and contemporary treatments of beloved holiday favorites.

“They’re going to hear some really fine jazz performances," said Somers.

Somers says the highlight may be a performance by Annie Fitch

"She’s the former Mrs. Claus from Radio City Music Hall," said Somers.“She’s performed for over a million poeple at Rockefeller Center and she just lights up the stage. And since I’m the choral director, and have been for 30 years at The Tatnall School, I’ll be bringing one of my choirs in, so they’ll be singing - the Treble Choir will be singing a couple of numbers with Annie.”

Somers adds there will also be a nod to Duke Ellington and an homage to Wilmington's own jazz trumpeter, Clifford Brown.

All tickets for A Jazz Christmas are $25 and available now here. Tickets will also be available at the door if not sold out prior to the event.
