A car crash caused a Dewey Beach restaurant to be engulfed in flames early Tuesday morning.
Warren Jones with the Rehoboth Beach Fire Company said a car rammed into Ed’s Chicken and Crabs around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
“When our units arrived on the scene, the building was totally involved in fire,” Jones said.
"The roof collapsed and sections of the building collapsed."
He said the building is a total loss after the roof collapsed in the blaze.
Fire units from Rehoboth Beach, Bethany Beach, Lewes and Indian River worked to put out the blaze until around 4 a.m.
The Delaware State Fire Marshall could not be reached for comment.
