According to the Young Survival Coalition, nearly 1,200 women under the age of 40 die annually from breast cancer. The younger you are the lower the odds, but women as young as 18 can get breast cancer which is the leading cause of cancer death in women ages 15 to 44.

Kay Pruett of the Young Survival Coalition says getting a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming.
