Delaware’s Behavioral Health Consortium is making recommendations to Gov. John Carney on how the state can combat addiction and improve mental health.

As the cost of healthcare in Delaware outpaces the state’s economic growth, officials are searching for ways to make providing healthcare more efficient and effective.

That plan includes continuing work to integrate behavioral health treatment with primary care settings.               

Delaware’s Behavioral Health Consortium met for the first time last week to work on combating the opioid crisis in the state. The committee is comprised of state officials, health professionals and community advocates.
