The University of Delaware gets its 2018 season underway Thursday night, welcoming Rhode Island to Newark.
There’s an air of anticipation surrounding the Blue Hens this year. They are nationally-ranked to start a season for the first time since 2012 – sitting at 15th in one poll and 16th in another.
That raises hopes that UD can return to NCAA playoffs for the first time since 2010.
Kick-off between Delaware and Rhode Island is 7 p.m. tonight at Delaware Stadium.
And UD also announced today that it has signed a deal to play Penn State in 2023 and 2027. The games will be the first ever between the two storied Eastern football powers - and the Blue Hens’ first against a Big Ten conference school.
Both games will be at Penn State.
